Disorganized in an Organized World? A New Direction for the Brain

September 23, 2010
The Schenck School

Sherry Pruitt’s enlightening seminar on executive dysfunction was a great success!

Over 130 parents, grandparents, caregivers and educators attended this informative and wonderfully presented program!

On Thursday, September 23rd, parents and professionals gathered to hear the expert on executive dysfunction, Sherry Pruitt, as she carefully outlined the characteristics of EDF while giving very useful, take-home information on how to help our children succeed despite the challenges they face.

Following the main program with Sherry Pruitt, MEd, there was a Q & A opportunity with a panel of experts. Elaine Taylor-Klaus moderated as the audience was able to ask questions from the following panelists: professional organizers from Student Organizers of Atlanta Michelle Cooper and Michelle Grey, educational consultant Gayle F. Born, M.Ed, Dr. Peter J. Scire, and Gailynn Gluth.

The vision of Kids Enabled is to create an informed community where all children with learning differences have access to the resources that will help them reach their full potential as both students and members of the community. The third program in our Brain Health and Nutrition Series, Disorganized in an Organized World? A New Direction for the Brain, was a great way for parents to learn about how they can help their children succeed. Parents also had the opportunity to ask questions specific to their situation to gain better insights.

As always, we owe our continued success at reaching out to the learning differences community to the Kids Enabled staff and volunteers, the generous sponsorship of Brain Balance, LearningRx, Kids Creek, and Children’s Special Services, and our exhibitors Alexsander Academy, The Cottage School, Clay White, LLC, Sherry Danzig, The Handle Institute, Hirsch Academy, JF&CS, Kathleen Hughes, Kids Can, Parkaire Consultants, Providence Christian Academy, Student Organizers of Atlanta, The Schenck School and Under the Umbrella. For this particular event we also would like to give a HUGE thank you to the Schenck School for the use of their wonderful auditorium, Kimberlee Collins for her photography and Joe’s Catering (www.joescatering.com) who provided a fantastic fare for our networking reception held before the program. Last, but certainly not least, Kids Enabled is deeply grateful to Sherry Pruitt (www.parkaireconsultants.com) for the contribution of her time, energy and expertise.
